South Cheshire Growth Village - current developer consultation

Many of you, particularly those living in Weston Village, Stowford and Whites Lane, will have received a public consultation document from Bloor Homes asking for your views in relation to their proposals for the South Cheshire Growth Village.

Following strong representations from both the Parish Council and Steve Edgar, our Local Ward Councillor, this consultation has now been extended until 28th February.

This is a pre planning application consultation which will be followed by the submission of a formal planning application to Cheshire East when there will be further opportunity for comment.

We cannot stop this development from happening because the principle has already been established.  The South Cheshire Growth Village is a key strategic development site within the approved Cheshire East Local Plan.  It's important, however, that you make your views known so that we can ensure that the development which takes place protects Weston Village and the surrounding area as much as possible.  The Parish Council is currently looking closely at the proposals.

To see all of the details please refer to the developer's web site www.scgv.co.uk

Shavington Primary - Resource Provision

There is a growing need across Cheshire East for more specialist resource provision places and currently due to the lack of places some children are being educated in schools outside of Cheshire East. This lack of provision means that children are spending time travelling to and from school at a significant cost to the local authority.

The council have completed a sufficiency review of its special educational needs provision across the local authority.  It has identified that there is a need within the Crewe, Nantwich and Shavington area to provide at least 21 places in specialist resource provision for children with a primary need of Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC).

In June 2017 Cheshire East asked schools in the Crewe, Nantwich and Shavington areas if they were interested in creating a funded resource provision in their schools and Shavington Primary School expressed an interest.
