About Weston & Crewe Green

Weston & Crewe Green Parish is situated in the Crewe & Nantwich district of Southeast Cheshire, England. It is a group of small villages lying mainly to the South of the A500 & West of the M6 motorway, about 5km south east of Crewe.

Between 2001 and 2011 the old Parish of Weston and Basford experienced an increase in its population from 1240 to 2111(Source: ONS, Census, 2011), representing an increase of 70%. There has been substantially higher growth than the Cheshire East average. This increase could largely be attributed to the development of Wychwood Park and Wychwood Village, large residential developments in the old Parish of Weston.

The villages of the parish are Weston, Basford, Crewe Green, Englesea Brook, Stowford, Wychwood Village and Wychwood Park. The Parish has excellent transport links being 4km from the mainline railway station and 5km from the M6. The parish is split by the A500 which provides the link to the M6.

Generations of the same family live here alongside newer residents. Employment within the Parish was mostly linked to agriculture. However other local businesses are mostly thriving and the population of the area is increasing due to Wychwood Park & Village and the business expansion taking place in south Cheshire.
